The Department of Plant Breeding deals with various aspects of relevance to modern plant breeding. Research focuses on breeding methodology and selection theory, precision phenotyping, the development and optimization of molecular and genomic methods for plant breeding and their integration into breeding programs, and phenotypic, genetic and molecular characterization of traits.
